The free event, organised by Rugby Borough Council, will bring more than 50 food and drink stalls to the town centre, offering a wide range of local and international food and drink.

Visitors can enjoy everything from gourmet burgers and artisan cheeses to spices, desserts and other treats. The festival will also include a pop-up kitchen, with local chefs giving live demonstrations and sharing cooking tips.

There will also be music and family entertainment in Regent Gardens, offering something for residents, families and visitors to enjoy throughout the day.

Cllr Maggie O’Rourke, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for partnerships and wellbeing, said: “Rugby’s Autumn Food and Drink Festival is a great opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy the town centre and support local businesses.

“Businesses are invited to get involved and make the most of the extra visitors the festival will bring into the town centre.

“The event is almost fully booked and the demonstration kitchen programme is complete, but local businesses interested in taking part should still get in touch as soon as possible.

“Businesses which cannot attend on the day can benefit from the extra visitors by running a promotion or special offer before or during the festival.

“Several thousand people are expected to attend, helping to increase footfall, raise awareness of town centre businesses and support the local economy.”

Cllr Neil Sandison, Rugby Borough Council’s Liberal Democrat spokesperson for partnerships and wellbeing, added: “The festival offers a welcome boost for the town centre and gives local businesses a chance to showcase what makes Rugby such a great place to shop, eat and visit.

“Businesses across the town centre are encouraged to get involved, whether by taking a stall, running a special offer or helping to promote the festival to customers.”
