Report a case of food poisoning

Our food safety team investigates suspected cases of food poisoning.

You can report a case of food poisoning by calling (01788) 533533 or emailing fs@rugby.gov.uk

The team's investigations can include:

• a detailed examination of the food
• an inspection of the premises where the food was purchased
• contact with the manufacturer or supplier of the food

The team has a range of enforcement powers, from informal action to prosecution.

IMPORTANT - if you or a family member have food poisoning symptoms (vomiting and diarrhoea), you should stay off work or school for 48 hours after the symptoms have stopped.

If symptoms persist, seek medical assistance.
