Christmas changes to waste collections
There will be no waste collections on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, and no green garden waste collections from 22 December to 2 January.
We have launched public consultations on plans to renew the three Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) currently in effect in the borough for a further three years.
PSPOs help the council to tackle anti-social behaviour and protect public spaces for everyone.
Each order, made under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, aims to prevent activities which have a detrimental effect on the quality of life of those in the locality - or activities which are likely to be of a persistent or continuing nature, such as to make the activities unreasonable.
The proposed renewal of the borough's three PSPOs largely keep the same controls in effect now.
We want to hear your views on whether the existing controls remain appropriate and proportionate.
The consultations run from Monday 22 December 2025 to 5pm on Monday 2 February 2026.

Following the consultation, the council will review the responses received and publish a summary of findings.
The relevant council committee will then consider whether to renew the PSPOs for a further three years.
Implementation dates and any changes made to the PSPOs will be published on this webpage.
