#KnifeFreeRugby

#Knifefreerugby campaign aims to highlight the consequences of a carrying a knife and to inspire young Rugby people to pursue positive alternatives. Reporting a young person carrying a knife before they get themselves or others hurt is the kindest thing you can do for them, a leading figure in the fight against knife crime for Warwickshire Police has said.

It is vitally important that we help young people understand the dangers associated with carrying a knife. A knife won’t protect you; it doesn’t give you status.

Carrying a knife doesn’t solve anything in fact all it does is increase the likelihood that you will be seriously injured or worse.

Op Talkative

Op Talkative is a Police initiative asking for our community to share more information about anyone they know or hear about carrying or having possession of a knife.  Increase in this information is vital to enable not only the police, but the full range of community safety partners to consider options to prevent and divert individuals risking their own and others safety in Warwickshire.

Ask for Angela

Rugby Borough Council is rolling out the Ask for Angela campaign in pubs, bars, clubs and other licensed venues in the borough.

The campaign helps keep people safe while enjoying a night out. If you feel vulnerable, threatened or unsafe, just approach a member of staff at venue and ask for 'Angela'.

All venues which support the campaign have a trained member of staff who can help you if you ask for 'Angela'. Whether reuniting you with friends, seeing you into a taxi or alerting venue security or the police, 'Angela' can take immediate, discreet action to make sure you're safe.

Staff at every venue which has signed up to the Ask for Angela campaign has received specialised training delivered by council licensing officers.
