Now that the Rounds Gardens site is cleared, and with a new corporate strategy at the Council, we want to make sure the plan for the site going forward is the right one for the local community.

The site is clearly of increased strategic importance, when considering its potential to link in with the wider regeneration ambitions for the town centre. This is an exciting opportunity to develop new ambitions for the Rounds Gardens site and consider how it can contribute to enabling communities to thrive and the town centre to flourish.

The Council has commissioned architects to consider different options so please do take this opportunity to let us know your views. The 221 flats that had stood on the Rounds Gardens site since the late 1960’s were demolished as a result of concerns in respect of fire safety and legacy construction issues. The speed at which the Council needed to move meant that it did not have the luxury of planning what the redeveloped site would look like, as would have been the case with a standard regeneration project.

Whilst we cannot guarantee we can meet all of your aspirations; we want to ensure that they help to shape our future plans. So please provide us with your comments to help inform our proposals for the future of the site.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on what you would like to see at Rounds Gardens. Please complete the survey below to rank our ideas and share your thoughts.
