Gas safety inspections

The council has a legal duty to maintain gas appliances and installations in its properties.

We carry out gas safety inspections at our properties annually. We notify tenants of the inspection date in advance and tenants have a legal duty to allow access to the property to allow the inspection to take place.

We can take legal action to gain access if necessary, resulting in a £250 charge for the tenant.
